On the occasion of International Dance Day let’s celebrate dance to impact our life and add some happiness and positivity.Dance allows us to express a wide variety of emotions. The way we dance not only express happiness, excitement, and passion but also aggression and anger. It is an ability of the human body to grove, move, lock and pop which has enchanted the way we interrelate with rhythm and express ourselves artistically.
I am passionate about one of the beautiful dance forms of India – “Odissi” which has it’s origin from the temples of Odisha that depicts in the sculptures which are on the walls of the temple consisting of sculptures with beautiful love tales of Krishna and many other God and Goddesses.

Odissi is a dance form from the state of Odisha in eastern India. It is recognised as one of the eight classical dance forms of India, and celebrated around the world for its lyricism, sensuality and emphasis on bhakti bhava, attitude of devotion and surrender. It is evident from the historians and many other Mahagurus of Odissi that this great dance style was earlier performed in the temples of Odissa, especially ‘ The Jaganath Temple’. Since that era this dance style has evolved more artistically and beautifully, rendering new thoughts according to the adaptability of the new generation,yet the roots of this dance pattern still remains the same as we continue to celebrate the custom,tradition and culture in this form of classical dance – “ Odissi “
